Hello, Dear Cosmonauts
Here is Yasha from a small town in Voronezh region. I have a big dream to meet a cosmonaut. I will be very happy if it happens one day. Now I am very glad that I have an opportunity to send a letter to ISS (International Space Station)
I have always been interested in everything that is connected with astronomy and cosmonautics. We often look at the stars, they are so tiny, far and mysterious.
Space leaves nobody indifferent. It amazes, surprises and makes people think. It attracts us with its uncovered mysteries, and a huge number of unknown places. We know that on the Earth there are no more such places. I always enjoy reading books and watching television programs about new discoveries in cosmonautics.
A cosmonaut is a dangerous and even a serious job. You are very brave, determined and strong people. Besides that you are real patriots. If only we could be like you. We are proud of you looking at your space journeys! While I was still in a primary school I dreamt of becoming a cosmonaut.
I firmly decided that after school I would study a lot and will join a club where thay train cosmonauts. But it’s not that simple – to fly into space.
First of all you must be healthy and pass many tests. I am not afraid of difficulties but due to some health problems I may not be suitable to be a cosmonaut. But I can become a construction engineer as Sergey Pavlovich Korolyev did. Or you can become an engineer, a worker, a constructor that create space ships and artificial satellites. What if I become a doctor in a year, you can not prepare for a space travel without them. I am sure, in a year or two I will decide what my profession will be.
The most important thing is to help to investigate the Universe. I will have small victories for great goals. I have read many books and materials about space and travelling and understood that diligence, patience and hard work will help to get where I want. Dear cosmonauts, if only you knew how I want to come to you on an excursion to a cosmodrome and to see everything wit my own eyes. And how much I really want to ask you – what is space really like?
I really want to meet you and to be on a spaceship. Is it possible? It is really interesting for me to know if you saw our planet, if you can see cities, seas, mountains, rivers. I suppose that our planet is amazingly beautiful. You were probably happy looking at it.
A space ship, gravity, training simulators, space suit, open space – it is all very interesting. I have a big request to you. Please tell us more about your profession, may be even make a special TV program about space? I think it would be very interesting and informative. It’s not a secret that young people today don’t know much about the space.
By the way I would like a couple words about myself and about our boarding school. I am 12 years old and I learn in the 6 “B” form of school № 1 in Boguchar. I live in a Boguchar school – a boarding school named after M.A. Sholokhov. We live in “family groups”. There are 2 girls about 5 boys in our family group. Our counselors are like mothers for us. They care of us, help us with the homework and bring us up. Our canten chefs also make very tasty food.
But still I really miss my mon. When I grow up, I will have a good job, my own house and a family. I will help my mother to become healthy and she will live in our family. And now I try to study diligently as I believe that my knowledge will help me to make my dream come true. I am finishing writing my letter. I wish you to have great health, luck and successful journeys. Let your interesting and very needed profession be a success.
