Апрельским тихим вечером сидел я у окна.
Смотрел на небо звездное, дыханье затая.
Пленили красотой своей и звезды, и луна!
Сейчас я расскажу вам, о чем мечтал тогда!
Быть Юрием Гагариным в тот вечер я мечтал,
Взмывающем в «Востоке» в космическую даль!
В иллюминатор звезды хотел я рассмотреть.
И первым космонавтом на Землю прилететь!
В открытый космос выйти мечтал я в вечер тот,
Как Алексей Леонов из корабля «Восход»!
Я видел, фотография все страны обошла,
Где космонавт в скафандре, а за спиной Земля!
И был я Нилом Армстронгом в космических мечтах!
Летел на «Аполлоне», забыв свой детский страх!
И представлял, как первый шаг я сделал на Луне!
Каким холодным и большим казался спутник мне!
С Сергеем Королевым на «Байконуре» был!
Как Анатолий Соловьев я станцию чинил!
И с Германом Титовым всю Землю облетел!
С великой Терешковой на космос я смотрел!
В мечтах своих на МКС я командиром был!
И мыс Канаверал, Плесецк, Куру я посетил!
Участвовал в стыковке «Союз» и «Аполлон»!
С коллегами китайскими я строил космодром!
Опять к полету я готов и ждут меня друзья-
Отважные и храбрые Герои космоса!
Но тут мне мама говорит: «Сыночек, спать пора».
Но ведь мечты сбываются и сбудется моя!

It was an April charming night, the window widely opened
And I was gazing at the sky, so bright that I’ve, myself, forgotten
So facinating stars there were and captivating moon
And now I tell you what I have been dreaming there soon.
To be Gagarin I have wished that magic glorious night,
Who was in spacecraft named “Vostok” and made a noble flight.
And through illuminator I wanted to touch the stars
To be a primary spaceman I wanted there so far.
To overmaster outer space this evening I have dreamt
As a great spaceman in “Voshod”, Leonov was his name.
I saw this picture and it was seen all over giant world
There was a spaceman and behind – the planet named The Earth.
And once I was Neil Armstrong in my inquiring mind
In spacecraft named “Apollo” my fear was left behind.
I made a step, that precious step over the lunar surface
How cold and deep it seemed to me, how big and magic was it.
And “Baikonur” is my new home, and Korolyov’s my friend,
As Anatoliy Solovyov the station I did mend.
With my new friend, who’s name Titov, I flew around the Earth,
We watched the space, admired the space, with Tereshkova both.
The International Station I did head in my dreams
Kura, Plesetsk, Canaveral — so much for me it means.
Took part in spaceships’ coupling, “Soyuz” and “Apollo” ,
And built a spaceport, with Chinese, of course, not on my own.
I’m ready for the marvellous flights, and my new friends await —
They are heroic sturdy men, space heroes of our days.
And now I hear my mother say “My darling, go to sleep”.
But dreams come true, I know it well, and they come true for me.
